IM ENGAGED!!!

Guess what?!?!?! MIKELL AND I ARE ENGAGED!!! I still cant believe it happened, I still feel like it was a dream! He did it New Years morning at the Mesa Temple at like 730 in the morning. It definately wasnt anything I expected!

So Saturday morning I get attacked by my friend who was staying with me, and she made up this story that we had to go to the temple to find her sister. I did all I could to not go becuase I was still dead to the world. So, I got up, didnt brush my teeth or put on a stinking bra!! (im mad at her for that!!) Anywho, so I take her to the temple so that we can find her "sister". She told me to go one way and she would go the other, so i was walking not really paying attention and then i see Mikell by the enterance of the temple. I was completely shocked because I honestly didnt believe it was gonna happen till like Feb. or somthing. Well, we watched the sunrise and he said alot of cute and sappy things and then got down on one knee, and of course during this time im crying my eyes out. Seriously, my glass fogged up on me! After I tried to control my emotions, I spotted my sister Wendi taking pics in the bushes. Apparently he was in contact with my family, without my knowing, which is pretty hard cuz i can almost find out everything :)
Sooooooo, anywho im soooo excited for this new adventure!! We are going to get married in the Mesa Temple on May 19 th !!!!!

I Love to See the Temple!

Despite having a really crazy week with rehearsals and school, I was able to go to the temple twice this week! I love having the temple so close by here at school. Ive been lucky to always have a temple so close where ever I go. I wish i would have taken advantage of the on home in Mesa more because there is no greater feeling than being inside the temple!

So Tuesday morning after quartet me, Mikell and two of the girls from the quartet Kayley and Jessica went and did baptisms. It was really cool becuase while we were there, there was this girl how came in with about 80 family names! It was really cool becuase I knew that it was a girl who got baptized like a year ago!

Then on Thursday we were able to get a bigger group together since it was Veterens Day! It was so great being able to share it with alot of dear friends. It was really cool because I ran into a family friend in the temple so we were able to chat for a bit.

Pretty much I love the temple and Im so grateful that I get to go atleast once a week!

So I kind of feel bad that I havent updated, but not really since there arent alot of people who read my blog. Its been what...4 months since I've updated, i guess i have sinned in the blogging world. In my defense my life has been to put it in a nice way...CRAZY!!!

I thought I was gonna have an enjoyable summer and by lazy the entire time, but then my wonderful sister decided to get engaged and 25 days later have a wedding. Oh that was an enjoyable experience! Don't get me wrong I'm so happy she got married, 25 DAYS?!?!? yeah I dont recommend that EVER!!! Lazy summer??? I think not!! Not only did my sister get married but 2 of my cousins did as well and since my family our the wedding decorators and such we played a huge part. Needless to say I was so happy that summer was over so that I could come back to wonderful T- TOWN!!! However, I did actually enjoy my summer even tho my sister Wendi doesnt believe me. I loved being around my family so much especially my little nieces and nephew (now nephews :) ), I also really loved my job! Being a lifeguard and swim coach through the city of Mesa is pretty much the best job ever! It pays well, my bosses are really awesome, I loved the kids I coach, and the people I work with are so cool! The pool was a great place for me to escape for awhile!

Now why am I back in T- TOWN?!?!? Well to be honest I had no idea when I came back. I just had a prompting that I should come back and everything fell into place, I got a scholarship and a place to live for a really good price. So...I came back and Im so grateful I did. I don't know why but this place has become another home to me. Besides if I didnt come back I would miss my best friends way to much! Here's the funny thing, I told myself that I was gonna take it easy and not do as much...yeah right that didn't happen. But oh well, I love it and I'm learning so much and I'm having so amazing experiences!

This semester has been really crazy. We just finished our Annual Fall Sing and to be honest it was probably one of my favorite since I have been here. Probably becuase I was so happy to get it over since Dr. Bishop decided to scare all of us and end up in the hospital after the first night. Fortunately he was able to come back and direct even though we planned for the worse. It was a very emotionally draining weekend but as usual I loved it! It was a great way to end my last fall sing :)

Another reason why I'm glad I came back to EA was the fact that I met the most amazing person and I'm so lucky that he is my boyfriend :) His name is Mikell Decker and we met in company. I did all these little things to get his attention and not be obvious about it and we became best friends and lucky enough it grew into somthing more :) Mikell is so amazing I feel so lucky to have him in my life. This past month I have really felt like a princess because the way he treats me and it is not even in the big stuff he does. It is in the little things and he never ceases to make me smile. Ps everyone he asked me to be his girlfriend on the ferris wheel, I mean come on can you get more romantic than that!!! Anyway, to make it short (since this post is so long) Mikell is soooo amazing!!!

I Guess I Should Update Again!!

I guess it has been along time since my last update and surprisingly alot has happened! So i guess I should start in May!! So, the week after Spring Sing we had our Jazz Singers Show. It was alot of fun just being able to sing everything we have done this year. I don't know why, but performing means so much to me and the quartet just meant alot to me this year. Our quartet was amazing, our blend was amazing and our chemistry was great!! Not to mention we had the best vocal coach!! Patty is one of the most incredible people I have ever met. Not only was she an amazing coach, but she was like a mother to us.

As a Tradition in choir we have the usual "Cry Day Friday" and yes it was a cry day for me, mostly because I was saying goodbye to alot of people. It wasn't a "Goodbye Ill never see you again" , it was a "I'm really gonna miss performing with you". For me performing is everything and some of the people in choir I've been forforming with for 2 years, so it is gonna be werid not performing with them. That day Dr. B had us sing one of our songs "Grateful" and there is a line in where it says..."I've got a family of friends", as I looked around at everyone there and realized that the friends I had made were my family. I can honestly say that I have made my closest friends in choir.

Moving on!! The week after that....I GRADUATED!!!! Yes, i feel so lucky that I finished my degree at EAC in 2 years. I dont know how I did, but I did!!! Its funny though, cuz apparently there is a reason why I need to head back in the Fall, I dont know what that is yet but I cant wait to find out. Anywho, graduation was really cool since this time I graduated I actually got to be with my friends instead of being seperated like we were in high school.

Another fun thing that happened...LACEY GOT MARRIED!!! Lacey and Pat got married and they looked sooo happy. A few of us to the road trip to see them. It was a very fun trip. So funny story, we get to St. Johns and saw a reception outside and thought "Hey we found it!" so we are walking in and I see the bride kiss the groom, but the groom wasnt Pat. We quickly realized that that wasnt their reception. Laceys was actually down the road alittle more...ooppsy :)

Well since the summer has started alot has been going on. Im currently the Head Swim Coach for the Stapley Night team and i LOVE IT!! Nothing beats getting a tan while doing something I love. However, the biggest surprise of the summer is Tiffany and Jeffs wedding!! Which is being pulled off in less then 4 weeks!!! yeah thats right...my family is CRAZY!!! But Im very happy for them, they are a very cute couple and I have never seen Tiff more happy :) That my friends is how things have been. It is crazy but GREAT!

So I know its been ages since I have updated, I have been so busy with everything that I havent had the time to actually sit down and do stuff. I guess Ill give you and overview of this last month.

At the beginning of April, we had our usually Spring show and this year the show was "The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee". It was such a fun show to be apart of. My character was Loggaine Shcwartzandgrubbunier and she was so much fun to play. She is a girl with two gay fathers and she has sooo much energy bottled up in her little 10 year body and she doesnt know what to do with it. The easiest thing about her was having a lisp and acting awkward :) The cool thing about this show was the fact that we had audience volunteers every night and they spelled words with us. For the most part it was sooo much fun, except our last show our volunteers were HORRIBLE!!!! One of them gave me a headache becuase he pulled on my hair sooo hard. However, our last show was cool because my sister was one of the volunteers and she sat by me which made it soooo hard for me not to break. All in all the show was alot of fun, however i was soo happy when it was over.

A week and a half later was our Jazz Singers tour. It was a rather short tour, but it was alot of fun to go to Mesa with some of my closest friends and perform. However, it was pretty draining because we did 5 shows in less then 24hrs. It was a very entertaining tour including our blonde moment on "Blonde" ...."Shoe be ...do ....be???" oh priceless moments!!! I realized on this tour how much I gonna miss quartet, we have a great chemistry as a group and we have a blast together. Ive thought about doing it again but I dont think I will because...a) i hate waking up early and b) I dont think anyone can top this years group!!!

A week later we had Spring Sing!!! Oh my heck, I have never been in a more physically and emotionally draining show before. If I counted correctly, I sang 30 songs for this show. Yeah, my voice is sooooo dead right now, I woke up this morning with a really manly voice even more so than Im used to. Anywho, everything about this show was great!! Except for the fact that the girls quartet had to go right after company, and we were soo dead tired from company we barely had enough energy to pull off "Cuz I'm a Blonde" but somehow we did it!!! Our Company set was alot of fun, I have never danced sooo much im my entire life, I dont know how i pulled it off, Heck i dont know how all of company pulled it off but we did. I have to say my favorite song was "SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS", partly because Lauren ROCKED as Mary Poppins, I dont know why Bishop didnt have her do it before!!! Anywho, the company set was great except for our little sound mishap we had on Saturday but I think we covered it well. I think the hardest part of this show was realizing that this was gonna be the last time I perform with some of my dearest friends. Needless to say, I cried alot these last few days, it was kind of embarrassing. It was really a great experience to have all of my sisters sing "The Lord BLess You and Keep You" for the last night. Im gonna miss choir sooo much next year. Howvere, its not just the music that im gonna miss, it gonna be the friendships that i have made. I know that my plan is to come back next year but things could change so I decided that I would treat this as my last Spring Sing.

The one person that Im gonna miss the most is Lauren, she helped me through some of the hardest times in my life and has been a great example of always laughing at life even when it gets so hard. Im so grateful she decided to come back and do choir one more year. Singing the "Lord Bless You" was sooo hard, we both were crying the entire time.
Its gonna be werid to do it without her next year.

Its werid to think that Im graduating in 2 weeks, these last two years have gone by soo fast! I'm still not sure what I want to do with my life but I know im gonna enjoy life no matter what happens!!

White Mountain Tour!

What a great way to start spring break than to start it off with a tour!! Well, for the most part it was alot of fun. It is so exhausting doing so many shows in such a short time, but at the same time it was alot of fun, except for my knee acting stupid. Everything during the first day was going great until our night show in St. John. We were doing our company set dancing to "Rock Around the Clock", and there is a part where the girls have a lil dance break. I was having alot of fun and nailing the dance when my knee popped out of place. Yeah it hurt like no other, but the show must go on. Luckily, I have the best sister and friends in the world!! They took great care of me through the entire tour. Thanks you guys :) Anyway, the rest of the tour was kind of not as fun just because I was in pain the entire time.However, I realized something, I will do anything to keep performing, it's what I live for! Anywho, as always tour was fun but by the end of tour I was sooooo exhausted and ready to be home, 7 shows in 3 days will kill ya!

Confessions of a Theater Nerd/ Music Dork!!

So my good ol friend Lauren tagged me for this. I guess i'm supposed to come up with 10 confessions about myself. Its kind of werid because Ive never thought about this kind of stuff before today and things the most poeple find "werid" i dont find as werid. So here it goes....

1. I make really werid noises...it really isnt uncommon for me to make some random noise. Sometimes im not aware that they come out, until my friends give me werid looks after the sound has been made.

2. I can impersonate guy voices. It all started when I was like 6. I fell in love with the movie Oklahoma, I watched it so many times that I could do a one man show. Well i started to sing like a man, and i guess it has just stuck with me cuz my voice is naturally low. Seriously tho, sometimes i catch myself singing the bass line in church.

3. I love Elvis Presley!! He was one I could personate really well, including the his hip movements. I loved his "Blue Swade shoes" and "hound dog"!! Oh and i can do his little lip thing too :)

4. I am the BIGGEST musical theater freak!!! I can tell you anything about a show, who was in it, if it won any awards, and when it opened. Its not uncommon for me to be sitting in the office having the broadway channel playing and i can tell you what show, whether not it is a revival cast , and who is singing.

5. Im a big choir/orchestra person. I can be sitting in a concert and I can probably sing along, or finger the bass part on my arm. Or I can tell you the composer of the song and a random fact about them.

6. I am deathly afraid of thunderstroms! It all started when i was like 6 and we were watching the Olympics. It was storming outside and all of a sudden our neighbors huge tree fell down. Ever since i get really jumpy and I plug my ears :(

7. I am the most insecure person. I have the hardest time being myself around people. I always think people are watching me and judging me. I think thats why im so awkward at times because im not confident and so it ends up being something awkward.

8. I have singing dreams. Its not uncommon for me to have my dreams that consists of nothing but music. Sometimes I wish my dreams would come true and that everything in my life would be music...oh wait it is almost that way.

9. Im scared about my future. Im finishing up my two years at EAC and i have no idea what to do with my life. it seems like everything i wanna do back fires and i end back in the same place...nowhere! I wish i had more answers

10. I am soooo clumbsy. As a kid i would run into things, or fall, or have things get dropped on me, thats why i have so many scares. Oh and my balance is horrible, sometimes i can just loose my balance when im standing, its funny cuz one minute im up and the next im down.

So last weekend my sister and I were lucky enough to go see "Mary Poppins", can I just tell you right now that ...I LOVE THAT SHOW!!! Everything about it was AMAZING!!! I was in awe the entire time because... A) I got to see\meet one of my favorite performers EVER!! B) The special effects were soooooo cool, its not everyday that you see someone tap upside down. C) I just LOVE musical theater!!! It was sooo great to take a weekend and have alot of fun, Ive been so stressed with school so it felt so great!

Christmas Break!

It is soooo werid to think that 2009 is now officially gone!! I cant believe how fast it went by, and I hope it goes by fast cuz I wanna be done with school!!! Anywho, my break was soooo much fun! I spent alot of time with family and my good ol friends back in Mesa. As always we had our Jones family party a few days before Christmas and boy was there ALOT of people there, we had so many that we needed to do it at a church building. We had around 80 people there I think, and that wasnt even all of my cousins. I swear my family is huge...and its still growing! The party was sooo much fun and of course my grandma had to do her traditional "Pancho Claus", I think it is one of my favorite Christmas Traditions :)

Christmas Eve is always the Riding family party, and this year everything felt back to normal. Our party last year was not the same because we had it in a Care center where Grandpa was. It felt great to be back at Grandma's house.

Yes I know its winter and the water is cold but come on I live in Mesa and it doesnt get that cold, besides it was "training" ...aka lets go play on the flow rider! So for those of you who will be in Mesa this summer I strongly suggest that you stop by Rhodes Jr High and ride the Flow Rider....its amazing!!

As for my New Years, I had a blast Ice Skating!! I had a great time seeing so many old friends, some of who I havent seen in years! I am proud to say that I only fell once...and it wasnt even my fault!!

Im sooooo excited to get started with this next semester, and what greater way to start it then with a tour :) It should be alot of fun!!

Winter Formal!!

So I had a flashback to high school this last weekend. We had our Winter Formal, and we had such a fun time. We all had our dates, and we even went out for dinner (yay for the $1 menu at Arby's). There wasnt a whole lot of people at the dance, but I still had a blast. I think it was partly because I have the coolest funnest friends!!

So my life has changed alot over the lasy six months, and I felt that I should do something no one ever expected me to do. So I dyed my hair!!! For a long time my friends have told me that I should try going darker but I never wanted to, because I didnt think it would look good. Well, I think I should take my friends advice more often becuase I LOVE IT!!!

I decided to surpise my family and friends with my hair change. I was actually nervous how my mom would take it because we were taking family pictures. To my surprise she didnt freak out, which is always a plus. Our family pictures were so much fun, and I was able to catch a few shots!

What A Day!!

So yesterday I got up did my normal thing, and was ready for my first class at seven. I went to quartet just as I normally do and we did our normal thing. My next class was Finale, oh i should mention I have both of those classes with my sister, anywho, we walked into class and were stopped by Dr. Bishop. He said,"Hey Jones girls come sing this song for me!" We didn't think much of it so we sang through the song, it was pretty easy nothing to hard. The next thing he said was, "we need you girls to sing at a missionary zone conference with Elder Kikuchi, oh and its this afternoon!"...AS IN THE GENERAL AUTHORITY?!?!?!?! Yes thats right Tiffany and I sang a last minute musical number for a general authority, it was crazy i was freaking out!! First off I looked like CRAP and they needed us to sing at 1, so I ditched seminar (i know shoot me) and got cute and went to choir in a dress (which I never do except for devotional). We rushed out of choir and made it to the conference. The entire time i was freaking out because we had only practiced it like twice and we were singing for a GENERAL AUTHORITY!!! Not kidding you i could have peed my pants. However, It was actually a really cool experience to be in the presence of one of Heavenly Fathers servants. The spirit was very strong and I know Heavenly Father needed me to hear what Elder Kikuchi had to say. Im so thankful for that experience I had and Im so truly thankful that I can use my talents to speard the gospel!!

FALL SING!!!

I have now officially finished my last FALL SING EVER!!!!...well atleast that is the plan. It was a great weekend...well besides losing my voice, but other than that it was FANTASTIC weekend. I got to see my mommy, daddy, Wendi, Kim , John and my lil Abby baby!! I love my family sooo much and I'm truly thankful that they made the effort to come watch me and Tiffers!!

The show it self was actually pretty stressful because I went from one group to another to another. Fast change after fast change, but I have great friends who helped to make them as fast as possible. Out of all the groups, I have to say that performing with the quartet was my favorite! I love the quartet so much, its great to spend every morning with some of my closest friends. We totally rocked!!!

I just wanted to wish my sis Kim a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I love my sister, she has been a huge example in my life. We are about ten years apart, so we have had a special bond my whole life. When I was 5, every night Kim would do a Journal with me, and i kidd you not, I still have it. Thank you for instilling in me how important Journal writing is.
She has always been the best big sister, she was the one who first started teaching me piano, to bad im not as good as she is. Kim was the one I always went to if I had a problem, she was always willing to listen. She has been though so much in her life, but yet she still remains to be so strong and I admire her so much.

One thng that all of us Jones girls have in common, is that we all went to EAC!!! I was 9 or 10 when Kim left for EAC and I was so heart broken. I made my mom call her so many times, just because I wanted to talk to her. I was even lucky enough to go and surprise her on her birthday.

Dont feel to old Kim...its only been about 10 years since you've been at EAC :)

Well I guess Im starting to ramble, but I just really wanted to express my love for my sister. She is so amazing and Im so thankful that she is in my life. KIM I LOVE YOU!!!

HE FINALLY CAME!!! MY FIRST NEPHEW CAME!!! If you can't tell, I'm sooooooo excited. My amazing Sis- in-law Chelsey had this beautiful boy early this morning around 1. He is a true huge Jones baby... 9lbs 8oz 21 inches.

He is such a proud daddy!!

I Cant wait to go home and hold him. I love my family soooo much, they are simply the greatest. I miss them so much.

So for my sister Tiffany's birthday, me and some friends went to go see the awesomeness of "LEGALLY BLONDE"!! It was such an awesome show, of course we had really high seats, but who cares we saw it!!! HAPPY BIRFDAY SISSY!!!

That was a super fun weekend. It was so great to spend time with the fam too. I miss them sooo much, espcially my two nieces and hopefull soon my nephew :) It was a much needed break that I needed. So this last week has been very very busy audition wise. Last thursday was my re- audition for A Cappella...I did well but sucked at the sight reading. Thankgoodness I already had a spot because the competition was so so so tough!! Friday we had Company auditions, and my 19th birthday. I think that it was a very wonderful birthday because I MADE IT!!!! Im way way excited for Company, its gonna be a very fun group this year.

Today and Yesterday, we had girls quartet auditions, and they were actually alot of fun. It was kind of werid hearing the different voices together, I never thought my voice would blend with some of the other girls that auditioned. Well, to my surprise....I MADE IT!!! Not only that, but im in it with some of my closest friends. So watch out EAC the girls quartet (Me, Tiffany, Lacey and Lauren) are gonna ROCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!!

So I really hope I can manage my time wisely this year because I am now in 4 choirs....YES 4!!! I know im a freak, but i just love all kinds of music. I love choir music ( A Cappella and Womens), musical theater (company) and close harmony (quartet) so why not get a fix of all of them right? Im really looking forward to a great year filled with some AWESOME music!!

So the week before school started my wonderful sister and dear cousin decided to put a little Disneyland trip together because they are lucky enough to get people in "FOR FREEEEEE". I always love going to Disneyland...it is truly the Happiest Place on Earth!! The only down side of the trip was the fact that I was in a wheelchair for most of the trip, but at the same time we used it to our advantage to get in front of the lines :)

I LOVE MY LIFE!!!

So its been almost two months since my surgery, and I'm so grateful for how well my life has been going lately. Im working an average of 20 hours a week which is way more than what I expected, I got a coaching job as soon as I returned to the water, and my dr says my recovery is going great...he gave me an A+!!

Here is me in the hospital like a few hours after my surgery...Im smiling because the drugs :)

So another reason why life has been so great is because I have been able to get out more and do some fun stuff!! Last Saturday my brother Preston Haws (not really my brother) invited me to a D Backs with his family and some friends. I had so much fun, It was great spending time with brother before his mission!! I love ya Presty!!

A few days ago was the midnight showing of the "Half Blood Prince", bur before the movie we celebrated the day of birth for my dear friend Abby :) I loved seeing my girls again!!!

So I was about to head to theater when I found out one of favoritest people was in town going to the midnight showing but at a different theater. I havent seen Lauren for a few months so I decided to pay a visit before heading to my theater. We only got to see each other for a few minutes but hey atleast we finally got to see each other. Seeing Lauren made me so excited to go to T TOWN!!! 35 DAYS!!!

When i finally made it the theater, i walked into my theater and the first two people i see are my favorite boys from high school!! We had some really good laughs before the movie started, and i finally got my Ryan hug!!

The 4th of July isn't just a day for me to remember our country's Independence ,but a day to remember a great person who had a huge influence in my life. Bekah Turley was a very special person in my life and many others as well. Sadly, two years ago today, she was in a fatel car accident on her way to California.

Bekah was one who always had a smile on her face. There were many days at school where i wouldnt be in a great mood or I was just having a rough day and Bekah would come and give me a hug or just smile, and my day was just seem better.

She also knew how to have a great time with life. There were several times in choir where we would be standing next to each other and I would be laughing because she always made so many crazy faces. She also had a great love for music. If anyone had a true love for music, it would be Bekah. I loved watching her sing because she truly sang from her heart even if it was a silly song like "I'm a Train" (that song was so stupid). We had so many great times in choir :) One of my favorite memories was at the end of the year choir party, they were giving out special awards and we were giving the award..."Most Likely to Get in a Cat Fight Over Chase Thomas"...haha ;)

My all time favorite memories with Bekah came from "Pirates of Penzance". Bekah, Arielle Tanner, and I were cast as police officers, and boy was it fun. We were the best men out there!! The best part of the show was our post show ritual. All three of us would huddle together and sing(yell ) a song from "Big River" call..."We are the Boys". The Lyrics actually mean so much to me now than before....

"All together now we are the boys. All together now FOREVER and AlWAYS. All together now we are the boys. We're together FOREVER and ALWAYS." Arielle, and I sang them one last time together after her funeral. Ever since then those words have stuck with me because they are so true, we will be together forever and always!!

I feel blessed to have been able to have Bekah be apart of my life. I know that I am a better person today because of her and her love for others and for the gospel. She had one the strongest testimonies I have ever heard. I look forward to seeing her smiling face again. Bekah I LOVE YOU!!!

Holdaway Reunion :)

So this last week the Riding family (my moms side) went to Utah for the last official Holdaway reunion. It took place in Vineyard Utah which is right next to Provo and Orem. It was a blast spending time with some of my extended family I dont get to see all the time, and it was nice to get away for awhile :)

One of the first activities was going to the Oquirrh Mt Temple open house. Yes there is another temple in Utah :) It is so beautiful!! It was a great to share it with so much family. I felt the spirit so strong in the sealing room, man I cant wait to go through :)

After the temple, a bunch of us went to Salt Lake City for the rest of the day. The picture above is of my lil niece Abby. She was so cute on the entire trip...LOVE HER!! Back to Salt Lake, we spent alot of time going through the different places.

Of course we had to go to the Tabernacle!! The last time i was ...I SANG UP THERE!!! Ah the memories :) While we were there the organist was practicing...it was LOUD!

The best part was seeing this beautiful Temple! To make my day better in Salt Lake, I got a call from my boss and she offered me a coaching job for the rest of the summer :)

The rest of the reunion was fun, just relaxing, playing games and not having to worry about anything. I'm so thankful for my family and how close we are, we spent several hours just talking. Oh and of course we stayed up every night playing games, we are very competative :) They are so awesome and are always there for me. They take great care of me :) Love you guys :)

When life happens you realize how much you have been blessed with. These last few months have really been an eye opener for me...especially these last two weeks. When I think of blessings I think of about 5 things. FAMILY, GOSPEL, FRIENDS, EDUCATION, and TALENTS!!

Over these last few weeks my family has been the best support ever. They have helped me overcome so many recent challenges!

I couldn't ask for better parents!!

My siblings have always been there for me and Im truly grateful!

When life gets crazy and everything seems out of place, the gospel is constant!! Im thankful that I have been blessed with the knowledge of the church!!

My friends from high school helped me make it through some pretty rough times, and I love them so much for it!! I never thought i could meet anymore amazing people........

UNTIL!! I went to college and met so many more amazing friends!!

They are crazy, but I love them!! Im so truly thankful for the examples they have been to me!!

My education has been a huge blessing, I dont know where I would be with out it today. My talents have also been a huge blessing in my life. I have had some of the greatest experiences in life due to the talents I have been blessed with. I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world. I have been so truly blessed!!

Spring Sing :)

Well I know that the semester is really coming to an end now, because Spring Sing is now over! It is so weird to think that it is over, this semester flew by sooooo fast but it sure was the funnest semester!! Spring Sing was such a fun show....long but FUN!! The best part was singing "The Color Purple" and being backed up by 62 other singers...I can honestly say one of my dreams came true during spring sing, I have always wanted to be backed up by a full choir. It is seriously one of the coolest experiences EVER!!! Another great part of Spring sing was having my sister Kim stand next to me during "Lord Bless", its crazy to think that she came here almost 10 years ago!

However, with it being over that also means that it was my last time performing with some of the coolest people! Seriously, coming to EAC has been the best choice I have ever made, the people here are just the coolest. Even the married people are pretty awesome!! I just want to say thanks to everyone who made my first year here really great, you all have helped me grow as a person in so many ways!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

SEUSSICAL!!!!

ITS FINALLY OVER!!! For those of you who don't know, for the last several months a have spent countless hours on a show. A show that I never thought would actually turn out, due to how frustated I would get in rehearsals. Well to my amazement the show actually came together in the end, and it was actually a pretty good show. However, Im so glad its over now, so that I can have a life again...well sort of

So heres how the two weeks of performances went:

Opening Night:

As usual there were some mess ups here and there, but we kept going and the show turned out pretty well.

1st Saturday:

My Family came including my grandma Jones and my sister and bro -in law and my lil niece ABBY!! Abby being there made my entire weekend!!! My sister Kim took a risk in bringing her down due to her still being rather small and still having a breathing mask. BUT SHE DID IT!! Thanks for making the effort Kim and John, it ment so much to me having you there :)

1st Monday:

Monday was probably my worst night, just because my voice was so dead. I barely made it through my numbers. I did alot of speak talking and I guess it worked out. No one really noticed, so thats a good thing.

2nd Friday:

That was a good night for me. My voice was almost back. However the engery was kind of missing from the cast, but it was still a good show. That night a lil girl came up to me and gave my a huge hug...I almost cried cuz she was so cute.

2nd Saturday

This was probably my best night and the funniest nights ever!! The enegry in the cast was alot of fun, so it was really easy to feed off the engery. My confidence and energy were boosted again when before my first big number I hear from somewhere in the audience..."GO MARLY!!" I almost broke but I didn't. Thank you Lauren for shouting, even though you are now gonna get struck down by the theater gods! Anywho, my voice felt really good for whole show, but for some reason my mic died on my last song. So for the rest of the show i was on a hand held, and it was kind of different trying to do all my awkward movements with a hand held mic. The best part was seeing my parents again. They came down again and I'm so happy they did, I have the best supportive parents EVER!!!

Closing Night:

This night was fun, just because I knew it was OVER!!! I was extra awkward in this show just for fun!! Have to say standing like I did took a tole on my knee. Its still kind of hurts! Well after the show some of my friends surprised my with flowers and DOVE CHOCOLATE!! Anyone who knows me, knows I love DOVE!!

I Can honestly say I wont really miss the show, I will miss the people tho. I had so much fun making jokes back stage. I will also miss the little kids after the show. I guess we will just have to wait and see till next year.

SPRING BREAK!!!

I'm so so so sorry I haven't blogged in forever, but life has been super crazy busy!!! So much has happened since I blogged last. Well, to start off, those of us in A Cappella and band were lucky enough to start our spring break early by going on a short tour around southern Arizona. It was ooodles and ooodles of fun!!

Then on Saturday morning my friend Sophie and I drove to Mesa, by way of getting stranded at a Toys 'R' Us...with our disgusting giant dinosaur egg gum balls! The rest of the day was super super long, but I got to play with my neice CALI JO!!! I LOVE HER AND MISS HER SO MUCH!!!

The best part of my spring break was spending time with my sisters Wendi and Tiff in Florida!! IT WAS A BLAST!! I miss my sisters so much! We had so much fun!! They made sure my time there was such a blast. Which includes breakfast with mad hatter and other characters and saving the world Kim Possible style and so much more fun!! I cant wait for them to come home this summer so that we can party some more!

Gila Valley Temple!!

I know this was a few weeks ago, but this is something worth blogging about. So on V-Day several church members in the Gila Valley area came together to take part in the ground breaking of the Gila Valley Temple!! It was such an amazing spiritual experience. Myself, and several others had the opportunity to be apart of a choir that sang at the ground breaking. It was so amazing to be in the presence of some general authorities, and to be seating on the grounds where the house of the Lord will be built!! I can't wait to see the process of the Temple being built!! I SO EXCITED!!!! I cant wait for day when I enter the Temple...I have the goose bumps just thinking about it!!

One of the best perks of being in choir, are the amazingly fun trips you get to go on!! Last week ACAPPELLA went to Utah, and it was the best experiences I have had in my life! Not only did I get to know some the coolest people, but I also had some really great spiritual experiences.

I love the snow with the temple...its so beautiful!!

So I'm werid, I hung with married people the whole time, but they were so much fun!

We had the coolest group ever...everyone wanted to be as cool as us!!

So one night we got bored and had alittle to much fun...I'm sure the hotel loved us

So on Sunday we were so blessed with the chance to watch MOTAB sing the "Music and the Spoken Word", and it was so amazing. However, I would have enjoyed it so much more if i wasnt dead tired, but for some reason I went to bed at three in the morning the night before. Anyway, after they finished, they asked us to come sing. HOW COOL IS THAT!!! We sang in the FREAKIN TABERNACLE!! It was one of the greatest experiences of my life!!!

This tour was the funnest tour I have ever been on. I got to meet of the greatest people ever. Not only that, but I had some amazing personal experiences that I will never forget. Thanks to everyone who went on tour, it wouldnt' have been the same without you guys!! I LOVE CHOIR!!

Winter Break!!!

My break was simply AMAZING!!! So much happened!! Well to start off the break, my really good friend from MHS Allie Mack got married!! Oh my gosh she was a gorgeous bride!!! I almost caught her bouquet, but I decided to let go I'm so not the next one to get married!!

Continuing on with my break. One night me and a couple of my girls were drivin home from getting gas when all of a sudden we see...SANTA CLAUS!!! It was so funny, he was just sittin in the parking lot at the Kimball stake center, so we decided to take our pictures with him!!

Christmas was soooo much fun!! As usual on Christmas Eve we have a traditional Riding Fam party. Which was not the typical one with Grandpa bein in a care center, but it was still fun. We watched a nativity they we had done like ten years ago...can we say EMBARRASSING!!! But the best part about Christmas Eve was my sister Tiff surprising us by coming to town early. I only wish you could see the look on my mommy's face...priceless!! On Christmas, after we opened our gifts we watched the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade...which is LIVE!!! (jk)

Moving on...NEW YEARS!!! Oh my heavens it was...how to put it in one word.....AMAZING!! Disneyland!

So my sister and I decided to take a quick trip to Disneyland about 2 weeks ago. Luckily with Wendi working for Disney, the only thing we had to pay for was the hotel and gas. I think it cost about $50 per person, which is prolly the cheapest its ever been for us to go. Disney is seriously one of my favorite places in the world!!

Ya know suprisingly we didnt get wet. We soon discovered that the water was down low due to the fact that IT WAS FREEZING!!!

It was great, my good friend Emilie Gibson and her mom both work for Disney. It was so great seeing them again. I MISS YOU GUYS!!

That trip was so much fun. It was great being able to have the whole park to our self because of the rain. So what if we froze our butts off, we walked on almost every single ride!! I love havin sisters who work for disney....I LOVE FREE STUFF!!!

So those pics were from our Christmas show...Festival of Carols. It was so much fun because for Company we got to wear our pj's as we performed "The Night Before Christmas". It was alot of fun, but I'm so glad to be getting new music to work with! We also had our 72nd Annual Messiah, oh my heck it was so much fun but scary at the same time. I had a solo and i was scared TO DEATH!!

So with the end of the semester comes the end of the semster STRESS RELIEVER!!! The Friday before finals EAC had jumpy toys and slides and such for several hours so that we could relax before finals. Man it was a blast, even I almost died a few times. Not gonna lie but I really liked punching people.

So this is a short post, but it is soooooo exciting!! So this last weekend I was able to go home and I got to see my lil baby Abby!! The best part was I was able to touch her for the very first time!!!! It is one of the greatest feelings in the world, touching something so small and so precious!!!! I can't wait to see her again and hopefully hold her!!!

Life Lately!!

I know I am awful at updating my blog so here is my life over the last several weeks!!

So this is Halloween...Thatcher style. So Lauren, Sophie and I were hicks for choir. Ah HECK!! We sure got some werid looks from people...they acted like I had something wrong with my teeth! I realized that I looked like the little girl from the Goofy Movie...I just needed glasses. That day in choir was so hard not to laugh especially because we were recording our Fall SIng music. P.S. Luckily we found our cow Dylan in choir too :)

The following Saturday a bunch of us got together and had a bonfire...or as Lacey would say a "Bond Fire" It was so much fun except for the smelling like smoke afterwards.

Ahh good times of Kumbyaing around our fire...that died. It is amazing how cold you can get when a fire dies.

Fastforward to Veterns weekend. I GOT TO GO HOME!!!! I have missed my family and friends soooo much. It turned out to be a very exciting weekend for me.

Shout out to the AMAZING company of "Cash on Delivery" at Mesa High, who took state!! They totally deserved it, the play was so freakin awesome!! But most of all shout out to two of the coolest people ever...Maddi and Abby, you guys were freakin AMAZING!!!

So best part about this in entire weekend was this little one right here!! On Sunday morning my big sis Kim had her first little one...3 months early! She is seriously the cutest thing on the ENTIRE planet!!! Ah I'm gonna have oh so much fun spoiling her!! Oh by the way her name is Abigail Merrill!! She was just under 2 pounds!!

I have to say that one of my newest favorite holidays is FAIR DAY!!! Who would have thought that in Thatcher would would get a day off of school just because of the fair. Well I don't mind I loved not having to worry about classes and SLEEP IN!! So with it being fair day, this also ment Company's first performance. Needless to say, I was somewhat...scratch that REALLY nervous. I hadn't performed in front of a crowd in sooooo long...and i had a SOLO!!! Well I think it went well, besides the fact that my mic came off during the dance break right before I had to blet a freakin high F!! But honestly I had a really good time last night, I miss performing!! I'M WAY EXCITED FOR FALL SING NOW!!!

Last week was such a fun week! I went on two dates, not used to that, but I like it. Well my first date was on Wednesday night with my good pal Simon. There were three couples and we had a blast. The guys made us ribs (oh man they were DIVINE) and mashed potatoes. They called it a Christmas dinner. So in honor of that we went Christmas caroling to peoples houses including my choir teacher Dr. Bishop and my good old pal friend Mesa, Tanner Green. It was a really fun date, but Simon and I will never work...he is a Toro!!!(J/k)

So sorry but I didnt get any good pics of the date :( I really did have a blast!!!

On Saturday I went on a date with Kasey, he is one of the nicest and sweetest guys I have met. We had blast that night. We had some really good Mexican food (the good stuff) and then we went Ice Blocking (I didnt really doo it tho) and then we watched to of the greatest moives, Second Hand Lions and Ice Age 2!! We had so much fun joking and making fun of things.

So this last weekend was a BLAST!!!! Two of my coolest friends joined the 18 year old club!! So in their honor we had a suprise party (awesome planning Calli and Abby), I'm so glad I was able to come down for the weekend to share it with them.

Let me tell ya, the party was sooooo much fun, I loved the Black and White theme (except for the fact that Marc got my shirt all yellow) it was the most fun I have had in awhile.

I'm very pleased to anounce that Marilee is actually surviving college...Suprised? Haha so am I :) Alot has happened over these last few weeks. I'M 18!!!!!! Suprisingly I dont feel any older. My friends here at EAC made sure that I had an awesome day. We went to R&R, which is prolly the best pizza place EVER!!! We then came back to watch one of my favorite movies ever...NEWSIES!!! What more could you want from a movie cute guys and dancing and singing, thats all I need. That weekend we also had our first hardcore Company rehearsals. Oh man they were a blast, except for the major welts I got on my thighs. Oh well it was so worth it. I'm so excited for our show, its gonna be awsome.

So that weekend I was able to go home because it was long weekend and it was Brad Pews farewell and my family had a big family dinner. So I was able to hang out with my old pals down in Mesa, I have missed you guys a ton (maybe thats why I come home all the time...jk). My favorite thing about that whole weekend was the birthday cake my wonderful sister made me. It was the coolest thing of my life. Thanks Wendi :)

Ok im so bad at updating, but its not my fault but my internet access has been pretty scarce. But now i finally have it...thankgoodness :) For those of you who dont know Im down in Thatcher, Arizona going to EAC!!!! I have been havin a blast so far, its so much fun.

Im soooo excited because i made ACAPPELLA!!! Oh man i love bein around music so much...i should prolly mention that out of all my classes only two of them arent music:) Well anyway, once you make A Cappella you are able to audition for other smaller groups, and i really wanted to be in Company...which is like Young Ambassadors for EAC. So last Friday night we had our auditions, and I thought i screwed up so bad on my dancing. My turn was awful and my high kick...well it wasn't so high. But to my surprise I MADE IT!!!! Not only that but he gave me this huge solo for our closing number! AHH!!!! I just hope i can do it justice seeing that it is ment for a soprano and im sooo an ALTO!!! Well i hope this gives you an idea of whats up with me...PEACE!!!

So as the summer comes to end so did Life Guard Olympics. Unfortunately we didnt do as well as we planned, but we had a blast. Not gonna lie but I thought our syncro moves were dang awesome. I also got to give props to Marc, he was the only guy who actually did any syncro...it takes a real man to have a good ballet leg :) Well anyway being a life guard at Powell was so much fun, and i got to work with some really crazy but fun people :)

Ah I'm gonna miss hearing that cheer from the POWELL PIRANHAS!! They were seriously so much fun. For those of you who are utterly confused at what I'm talkin about , i will tell you. This summer I have kept myself extrememly busy with being a lifeguard/ swim coach at Powell Pool. It has been so much fun and such a learning experience. My coaching partner was Emily Watts and she was so much fun, I learned so much from her being that it was my first year coaching.

Our season was a rather good one we had alot of strong members and many more that improved their strokes soooooo much. I'm so proud of each and every one of them. They all worked hard and they had alot of fun. Even tho it was hard gettin up at 6:30 every morning, it was so worth it. I really hope that Powell stays open so that i can go back there next summer.

So, not only are they so cute, but Cole is the funniest thing ever. The last time we babysat he performed "My New Philosophy" for us and it was amazing because he is only 3!! I think he prolly has better pitch than I do, i guess it helps when you have parents who are amazing performers. I can't wait to babysit for them again, I love those boys!!

So pretty much I'm a HUGE choir nerd and i'm proud of it!!! I did so many things for Choir but they were all so freakin fun. I loved MHS choir, i'm gonna miss it so much. I think the performing arts was the only place that i could be myself and not care what anyone thought of me. It was also where i gained all my close friends...i'm gonna miss you guys next year :(

So on Friday morning we had our freakin AWESOME Life Guard Olympics. Sadly our pool did not win the Splash and Dash (Nolan and Natalee were AMAZING!!), but surprisingly we kicked trash on the mystery event. It was rather silly actually. It was a race on Wiggle Cars... they are so much fun because you just have to move the wheel back and forth for it to move. Luckily i have ridden one before. Not to brag or anything but me and Victor smoked everyone. GO POWELL!!! GO JAMAICA!!

So today I got bored so I decided to make one of these for myself. I'll just give you alittle overview since May. I just graduated High School. It wasnt what i expected, but hey i will never be able to forget it :)

YAY for 3 Mustketeers!!

So pretty much life is going awesome, busy but AWESOME!!! I work alot but i like it. Oh yeah I'm a lifeguard/swim coach, so i pretty much am gettin a sweet tan and i like it!! Besides that my life consists of spending time with my family and friends and of course MUSICAL THEATER!!! I'm not to great at it but i love to perform and I love to watch it. For those of you who didnt know the Tony Awards were this last weekend. THEY WERE AMAZING!!!! This last weekend was so awesome because i got so much theater. Not only did I get to watch the Tony's but i also got to watch one of my best friends perform in the MCC Workshop...GO CALLI YOU ARE AMAZING!!!
